Irvine Ross Bsc(For) FICFor, has over 30 years experience in the forestry industry. A graduate of Aberdeen University he first spent four years with Tilhill Forestry Ltd working in the Scottish borders. After becoming Forestry Manager at Glen Tanar Estate he gained experience of forestry as part of integrated land management. He has particular experience of native woodland management and natural regeneration systems in pine and birch woodlands. Management of woods in national Nature Reserves and protected sites is another area of special expertise. He is chairman of the Native Pinewood Managers Group and was a member of the Forestry Commission's Advisory Panel for Native Woodlands for 6 years and a member of the Grampian Regional Forestry Forumfrom 2004 to 2008. He was awarded Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Foresters in 1992. |
