Native Woodlands

The few remnants of the native woodlands of the Scottish Highlands provide a wide variety of benefits to woodland owners, farmers, wildlife and the general public alike.

We have long experience of managing native Pine and Birch woods in the Eastern Highlands. Where appropriate we seek to combine timber production, livestock shelter, conservation and recreational benefits.

We have over 25 years experience of managing native pinewoods in a National Nature Reserve and in developing natural regeneration systems in pine and birch woods.

Irvine is the founder Chairman of the Native Pinewood Manager's Group and from 1992 to 1999 was a member of the Forestry Commission's Advisory Panel on Native Woodlands in Scotland.
